Vote for councillor accessibility, affordability & fiscal accountability

Accessibility to your Councillor

I will be more accessible than previous councillors by making myself a constant presence in the community. Holding ward walkabouts, hosting town halls (in-person and virtual), and guaranteeing a response to all resident emails. letters and calls as soon as possible. Gone will be the comment, ‘I don’t know what’s happening, my councillor never called me back’. I’ll expand digital engagement through live Q&As, ensuring seniors and people with disabilities can participate fully. If you can’t get to me, I will get to you! I’ll ensure city services reflect lived experiences, and I’ll advocate for real-time responses wherever possible on local projects. My door—mobile and inbox—will always be open, because accessible leadership means listening as much as leading. With your input we can conquer any issue.

Prioritize Traffic Safety

in neighborhoods by implementing traffic calming measures. Focus on areas near schools, parks, and transit stops to protect children, seniors, and pedestrians. Support Vision Zero goals by redesigning high-risk corridors, reducing speed limits on ‘inside’ residential roads and increasing enforcement of speeding and distracted driving.

Expand Active Transportation

networks by building connected sidewalks, multi-use trails, and protected bike lanes that link homes to schools, shopping centers, and transit hubs. Ensure pathways are accessible year-round with proper lighting, snow clearing, and maintenance. Promote safe, car-light mobility for all ages and abilities, reducing congestion and improving public health.

Address The Housing Affordability Crisis

by streamlining the construction of missing middle housing—including duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes—on the edges of established neighborhoods. Allow secondary suites and laneway homes by right, eliminate restrictive zoning, and reduce development fees for affordable and non-market housing projects to increase supply and choice.

Champion Environmental Sustainability

through greener parks, tree canopy expansion, and storm water management. Support urban forestry programs, pollinator-friendly landscaping, and naturalized drainage systems. Encourage energy-efficient retrofits for community centers and municipal buildings, and set targets for reducing the city’s carbon footprint.

Promote Fiscal Responsibility

and cost-saving efficiencies by auditing city spending, reducing administrative bloat, and prioritizing infrastructure renewal over new projects. Limit property tax increases by improving interdepartmental coordination, leveraging shared services, and pursuing provincial funding for downloaded mandates like transit and social housing.

Support Families

by expanding access to affordable child care through municipal partnerships and targeted subsidies. Advocate for full provincial cost-sharing of child care programs and increased operating grants to reduce parent fees. Prioritize the development of non-profit, community-based child care centers in suburban neighborhoods, especially near transit hubs and affordable housing, to make early learning accessible and reduce household expenses.
